3rd Annual: 2012 Varsity Volleyball Team Camp

Thank you for your interest in our third-annual Augsburg College Varsity Volleyball Team Camp.  We are excited to make this an annual event in your pre-season preparation to jump-start your team for the upcoming fall season.  We want your team to have a very positive experience at Augsburg College; please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your experience a great one!

How to Register:

  1. Contact Head Coach Jane Becker or Coach Hegerle to guarantee a spot for your team at camp!
  2. Jane will enter your team’s information at: http://www.augsburgvolleyballcamps.com/
  3. Once your team is registered, each player can go to augsburgvolleyballcamps.com and sign-up under your team name.
  4. Players are able to pay online with a credit card OR bring a check to camp.
  5. Please contact Jane if you have any questions or problems!

Each team will participate in three volleyball sessions, including a team building session, a team practice, and a competition session where two teams will face each other in controlled scrimmage games.   Coaches are welcome to attend camp with his/her team but it is not required.  Also, you may request to run your own practice OR have one of the Augsburg College Coaches run it for your team.  Either way, current Augsburg volleyball players will serve as assistant court coaches for your team practice session.  We will do our best to honor all time slot requests.  Each team will have three time slots, with at least one break for a team meal. 

The proposed schedule is as follows:

Varsity Team Competition Camp Information – Saturday, July 28th: Team Competition will begin at 9am on Saturday; teams may request late start times due to travel distance.  If a coach cannot be present for the competition date, a current Augsburg College coach or volleyball team member will stand in as a substitute coach for the day.  Teams are guaranteed five matches against different opponents.  Teams that are participating in both days of team camp MAY start competition on Friday evening depending on number of teams interested in camp.

Overnight Option (Friday to Saturday): On-campus housing is available to any team that wishes to stay overnight.  This year, teams will be in Luther Hall, which offers apartment style housing.  Housing requests will be honored in the order they are received!  All housing units are air-conditioned and have full kitchens, but no cookware/dishes, etc. are provided.  Also, overnight campers should bring their own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels.  One coach per team is allowed to stay for free; each additional coach is $35 dollars. 

Food/Restaurants: At team camp, each team will be responsible for providing their snacks, drinks, and meals.  We recommend bringing water bottles to fill, as cold water will be available.  There are several restaurants and healthy fast food options within a few minutes of Augsburg College.  Our staff would be happy to assist you in organizing directions and/or food delivery.  Concessions will be available on Saturday for the competition camp.

Other Items:

  1. All participants are required to fill-out and return a waiver and release form prior to the start of camp.  Each head coach will be emailed a copy of this form upon registration and is responsible for distributing it to his/her team.
  2. A roster form will also be sent to the head coach upon registration.  This form must be returned by the first day of camp.  If you would like your t-shirt sizes guaranteed, please return the form NO LATER than Monday, July 9th.  Coaches will also receive a camp T-shirt.
